A distinguished leader and academic in Higher Education, boasting an international background and deep expertise in the UK Higher Education sector, spanning a period of over 30 years. Currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Abertay, UK, Kamal has held senior positions at several UK universities, including a Pro-VC role at Northampton. As the former Head of the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Gloucestershire, he spearheaded cyber security and digital innovation initiatives, leading key CybeTech projects such as the C11 Cyber & Digital Innovation Centre, and the Cybersecurity & Digital Innovation Institute in Duren, Germany. He is also a co-founder of the National Institute of Coding and the Swindon and Wiltshire Institute of Technology. Kamal was Appointed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as an assessor for UK university course certifications. His research focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Engineering Design, Cyber Security, and Big Data Analytics. His PhD students tackle cutting-edge projects like “Advanced Persistent Threats" and “Security in Blockchain’s Smart Contracts”
